Weather forecast for North Myrtle Beach in December
Written by Cassidy Moore on Tuesday, December 1, 2015
Locals and visitors love to joke “If you don't like the weather at the beach, wait a minute. It'll change.” That's true during the summer months when a popup thunderstorm can cool off a smoldering hot day, but it's also true during the winter. Here's what to expect from the weather in North Myrtle Beach during the month of December.

Warm and sunny afternoons
With highs reaching up to the 70s in December, North Myrtle Beach is a nice place to escape harsh winter weather. As Christmas nears, the temperatures drop a bit, but you can still expect highs in the 50s and plenty of sunshine.

Cool mornings and evenings
Nighttime temperatures dip into the high 30s, which is downright frigid to beach lovers. We recommend waiting until the sun warms the beach before taking your morning walk in the wintertime.

White Christmas? Keep dreaming
Snowfall at the beach is a rare site even in December. A light flurry isn't out of the question, but it's unlikely. The average yearly snowfall for the beach is less than half an inch, which is just fine by us.

What to pack
Jeans, long-sleeve t-shirts and light jackets are must-haves for the beach in December. Locals will wear their flip-flops and sandals year-round so you'll be in good company if you forget your closed-toe footwear. Heavier jackets are good for the morning and evenings when the temps are low.
