North Myrtle Beach is a family beach, full of fun things to do and see. It's also home to some of the Grand Strand's most popular and longest running festivals and events. Crowds gather for a variety of celebrations of holidays and cultures, complete with Southern hospitality and live entertainment. If you're looking for an extra dose of fun on your next trip, check out these popular festivals.
Restaurant Week
Jan. 7-16, 2016
Restaurant Week South Carolina bring deals and special menus to restaurants throughout the state, including many fan favorites in North Myrtle Beach. Brentwood Restaurants and Wine Bistro and Castano’s Italian Steakhouse have committed to the 2016 week. Past participants from the North Myrtle Beach area also include The Parson’s Table in Little River and Vintage Twelve at Kingston Plantation.
Myrtle Beach Marathon
March 3-5, 2016
Runners from near and far flock to Myrtle Beach for the Myrtle Beach Marathon, featuring a fast and flat course along the Grand Strand. Just a short drive for North Myrtle Beach visitors, the Myrtle Beach Marathon is fun event for both participants and spectators. Not ready for the whole 26.2 miles? The marathon also includes a one-mile family fun run, 5K, relay, and half marathon.
St. Patrick's Day Parade and Festival

North Myrtle Beach goes green every March for St. Patrick’s Day with a family-friendly festival that kicks off with the parade at 9 a.m. Visitors can enjoy live entertainment, music and delicious Irish foods throughout the day in this popular street festival.
SOS Spring Safari
April 15-24, 2016
The Society of Stranders hosts their annual Spring Safari shag dance event every April in North Myrtle Beach. Friends reunite to enjoy good company, fun and the state dance: the shag.
Blue Crab Festival
May 14-15, 2016
A celebration of the ocean’s bounty and the quaint Littler River community, the Blue Crab Festival is a 35-year tradition on the Grand Strand. The festival features an array of food, craft and specialty vendors, entertainment and children’s activities.
Mayfest on Main
May 7, 2016
Mayfest on Main is a popular family festival in North Myrtle Beach, which features live music as well as food and craft vendors. The 2016 lineup includes Starship, performers of hit songs “We Built This City,” “Nothing’s Gonna Stop Us Now” and “Sara.”
Irish Italian International Festival

The 13th annual Irish Italian Festival will be a celebration of Irish and Italian cultures complete with delicious foods, entertainment and arts & crafts vendors. The event also includes a spaghetti eating contest.
