If you’re planning your first time vacation to North Myrtle Beach with your family, be prepared to have the time of your life! While, of course, the city offers plenty of things for adults such as nightlife and bars, there are also several kid-friendly attractions in the area.

810 North Myrtle Beach

810 Billiards & Bowling in North Myrtle Beach offers a respite from the summer sun with plenty of fun, games, and food for your entire crew. In addition to the state-of-the0art bowling lanes, 810 offers billiards, table tennis, foosball, darts and a variety of board games. The menu is not your typical bowling alley fare with a selection of appetizers, brick oven pizzas, sandwiches and salads. The bar is well-stocked with bottled and draft beers, wine, and a selection of craft cocktails.

Alligator Adventure

This wild attraction at Barefoot Landing is a must-see while visiting North Myrtle Beach. Home to a large variety of reptiles, birds, primates, and other wildlife, Alligator Adventure is an educational and captivating animal exhibit that your whole family will love. Drop by and simply view the alligators, crocodiles, lemurs, wolves, flamingos, and more, or stay for an educational session or feeding. Kids will especially love meeting Bob, the female alligator who was born without a tail, and Utan, a 18-ft, 2,000 lb. hybrid crocdile who is the largest croc in capitivity.

Break Out Myrtle Beach is a fun attraction that allows groups of all ages to use problem solving skills to solve room-sized puzzles. There are four unique rooms at Break Out Myrtle Beach: Red Beard’s Revenge, Serial Killer, CSI Myrtle Beach, and Bank Heist. Each room features a series of clues, and the mystery must be solved within 60 minutes in order to escape in time. While this may sound a little scary, Break Out Myrtle Beach ensures that this attraction is great for kids and adults alike.

For kids that are at least 10 years of age and 4’7″ in height, Go Ape Zip Line & Treetop Adventure is the ultimate attraction. This exciting ropes and zip line course is located in the North Myrtle Beach Park & Sports Complex and provides guests with shade from the South Carolina sun. You and your kids will have a blast overcoming treetop rope obstacles and sailing through the air on a number of zip lines.

Shark Wake Park

Head over to the North Myrtle Beach Park and Sports Complex and get your adrenaline going at Shark Wake Park! Kids will love trying out cable wakeboarding, with no experience required. In addition to cable wakeboarding, this attraction is also home to a Floating Aqua Park, which is fun for the whole family!

Horseback Riding

There are two great horse stables in the area where you and your kids go an a horseback riding adventure! Inlet Point Plantation is located in North Myrtle Beach while Wampee Stables is located in Little River. Both places offer a number of excursions including trail rides, beach rides, and pony rides for children up to 10 years of age.

Indigo Farms

Take a short drive to Calabash, NC to visit Indigo Farms. This family-friendly farm not only sells fresh produce and baked goods, but it also offers fun events and educational tours for families to learn about farming fruits and vegetables. Your whole family will love meeting a variety of farm animals, too! And, depending on the season, your kids can pick their own strawberries, blueberries, or blackberries. Indigo Farms also offers a ton of fun activities in October, such as hayrides, a pumpkin patch, pig races, and more.

Kokopelli Surf Camp

Sure, your kids love playing in the ocean, but what about surfing? The perfect sport to learn while visiting North Myrtle Beach is surfing, and the experienced instructors at Kokopelli Surf Camp are willing to teach you and your family the fundamentals of surfing. Set up a group surf lesson with Kokopelli Surf Camp, or join them for one of their weekly surf camps. If surfing isn’t your family’s speed, Kokopelli Surf Camp also offers paddleboarding lessons. Either way, the activities that Kokopelli Surf Camp have to offer are fun, exciting, and skill-building for you and your children.

Miniature Golf

The Grand Strand is no stranger to mini-golf, so when you’re visiting North Myrtle Beach, it is a must to stop and play at least one or two courses. With a variety of awesome miniature golf courses to choose from, your children will be entertained no matter which one you pick. Perhaps a good starting point, though, is Hawaiian Rumble Mini Golf, which is home to the annual Masters of ProMiniGolf tournament. OD Pavilion

Located oceanfront in North Myrtle Beach, the seasonal OD Pavilion will send you back in time and entertain your family simultaneously. The OD Pavilion is home to the OD Pavilion Grill, the OD Pavilion Amusement Park, and the OD Arcade. Just from that description alone, you know your kids will have a blast here with all of the fun rides and awesome arcade games!

The TIGERS Preservation Station is an exhibit that features different types of tigers and tiger cubs. You and your family can enjoy watching the tigers play, eat, and sleep through glass for free, or pay a fee and have your photo taken with tiger cubs or a monkey. Whether you stop by just to view the animals or have your picture taken, TIGERS Preservation Station is always a hit with the kiddos.
