Broadway at the Beach: Big Changes for 2017

Written by Marissa Polascak on Monday, January 23, 2017

Last year was huge for Broadway at the Beach: tons of changes occurred that, not only changed up attractions at the famous Myrtle Beach landmark, but also changed the landscape entirely.  Let’s recap renovations from last year and take a look at what’s coming to Broadway at the Beach in 2017:

Planet Hollywood

Last year, Planet Hollywood at Broadway at the Beach closed and the iconic blue globe was torn down. There hasn’t been any talk about what may be taking the place of the restaurant, and the lot where the establishment once stood now remains empty.

Hard Rock Café

When word came out that the Hard Rock Café pyramid was going to be torn down, tons of Myrtle Beach locals and vacationers were heartbroken. Since the news broke, the pyramid was taken down and Hard Rock Café moved into the former location of Broadway Louies. While many miss the pyramid, Hard Rock Café fans are pleased with the new restaurant’s look, atmosphere and delicious food.

Celebrity Square

Celebrity Square was once home to several nightclubs and bars, but since 2016, this section of Broadway at the Beach has changed dramatically. Many clubs have closed, and some have moved around. Broadway Louies moved from its original location to the opposite corner of Celebrity Square, and Hard Rock Café took its place. Across the way, American Tap House opened, as well as Wahlburgers, and Club OZ (formerly Revolutions Nightclub).

Dave & Buster's

After the Hard Rock Café pyramid was demolished, construction began on the location of Dave & Buster’s. Dave & Busters’ is a family-friendly restaurant and arcade that boasts several locations across the country. The new Myrtle Beach location at Broadway will be huge and will sport a warehouse-esque exterior to blend in with the rest of the new Celebrity Square.

Paula Deen Restaurant

Carlos’n Charlie’s  closed in 2016 and was soon after torn down. Why? To make room for a new Paula Deen restaurant concept. Not much has been said about when it is going to open or what the restaurant will be, so stay tuned for more information.
