Located just a short drive from North Myrtle Beach, Little River is a quaint fishing town that is known for amazing fresh seafood and smiling faces. Though Little River isn’t a big city like North Myrtle Beach, it is definitely a great place to visit for great dining, fishing, and fun festivals.

Capt. Juel’s Hurricane Restaurant

Capt. Juel’s Hurricane Restaurant has been serving the Little River area since 1945, and over the years it has become a staple for locals and visitors to the area. This friendly restaurant is open for lunch and dinner, and cooks up delicious meals made with fresh caught seafood. Of course, the menu features other items like cheeseburgers, chicken, steak, and porkchops to appeal to those who aren’t big fans of fish.

Crab Catcher’s On the Waterfront

If you want great views of the waterfront as well as some of the best seafood around, head on over to Crab Catcher’s on the Waterfront. This casual restaurant has something for the whole family to enjoy, including fresh local seafood, sandwiches, steaks, and more. Dine inside or enjoy your meal on the waterfront patio under the South Carolina sun.

Key West Crazy Waterfront Restaurant

Take a step out of Little River and into the Key West, Florida at Key West Crazy Waterfront Restaurant on the Little River Waterfront. This restaurant boasts a relaxed and breezy atmosphere, playing off of the ways of Key West. In addition to nightly live music, Key West Crazy prides themselves on having one of the biggest menus in town. The menu here is seafood-centric and features appetizers, seafood platters, sandwiches, tacos, and more. There are also several selections for “land lovers,” too!

McMahon’s Irish Tavern

Sure, you can find great local seafood selections at McMahon’s Irish Tavern, but you can also take a break from seafood and indulge in an authentic Irish meal at this waterfront eatery. Open Wednesday through Sunday, McMahon’s Irish Tavern serves lunch, happy hour, and dinner. Drop by here and have a beer at the bar, or sit down with your family and enjoy dishes like burgers, sandwiches, soups, salads, flat breads, and entrees featuring seafood, steak, and more. Of course, one of the top selling dishes here is McMahon’s Famous Shepards Pie, so consider giving it a try.

Patio’s Tiki Bar & Grill

Patio’s Tiki Bar & Grill: If you enjoy dining on a spacious deck, then Patio’s Tiki Bar & Grill is the place for you. This family-friendly establishment is located right on the water and provides guests with no-frills casual experience. The menu at Patio’s features a variety of options like appetizers, salads, deli-style sandwiches, seafood, specialty sandwiches, paninis, wraps, and desserts. Sink your teeth into Patio’s award-winning Reuben and enjoy live music for you entertainment.

Each cruise also has an all-you-can-eat buffet so that you don’t get hungry while playing the day away.

Want to do a little shopping? Stop by Pirate’s Treasure House and explore a shop full of eclectic art, décor, clothing, and souvenirs. You may even run into a pirate while you’re visiting!

The Sea Screamer isn’t as scary as it sounds; in fact, this family-friendly boat is perfect for dolphin cruises. Sit back and relax in the sun while cruising through the water and seeing area wildlife such as dolphins, turtles, fish, birds, and more.

Festivals

Little River Blue Crab Festival

Each spring, Little River hosts the World Famous Blue Crab Festival on the Little River Waterfront. This famous two-day festival is one of the biggest in the Southeast and it features arts and crafts vendors, specialty food vendors, entertainment, children’s activities, and, of course, blue crabs and other fresh local seafood! This is a fun festival that is great for the whole family. This only takes place once a year, so be sure to check if the festival will be going on while you’re in town.

Little River ShrimpFest

If you love shrimp and fun, then you don’t want to miss the annual Little River ShrimpFest that is held each fall on the Little River Waterfront. This two-day festival features a variety of games, vendors, entertainment, and more.
